The Maldives Game Fishing Association (MGFA) is pleased to announce that entries are now open for the 2014 Maldives Game Fishing Challenge

The third event of its kind in the Maldives will be held from 13 to 15 February and we’re delighted that once again Bandos Island Resort & Spa will be host-island. The 2014 challenge will be a shorter 3-day event than previous years. Commencing with the official registration of competing teams, all participating boats will meet at a social gathering on Thursday 13th – on the eve of the first days fishing. Teams will be on the water all day Friday 14th & Saturday 15th and the challenge will officially close with the Presentation & Awards Ceremony, held at Bandos Island Resort & Spa on Saturday evening.

The 2014 event will cover much the same fishing area as previous years, all within prime fishing grounds for species such as Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin, Big Eye & Dogtooth Tunas and Wahoo. With the timing change from November to February the committee predicts the 2014 event will bring renewed fishing opportunities and is confident that the February season will prove to be fortuitous for anglers, giving a healthy competitive edge for all teams.

A cast of fabulous prizes will be up for grabs by competing Anglers; generously supplied by our magnanimous sponsors; without whose unwavering support this event could not be made possible.

Due to the February timing of the challenge, the MGFA expects stronger numbers of international anglers to the 2014 event, as the word is spreading about this exciting game fishing challenge taking place within the heart of paradise.
